Website Redesign — ProposalPrepared for City of Lathrop, Missouri · Lathrop, MO · 2026
A city website that works
on a phone.
A modern facelift for cityoflathropmo.org, built from the City’s own pages — for residents who reach City Hall from a phone.
The opportunity
Measured against your current pages on 21 August 2026: none of the 41 carries a mobile viewport tag, so phone browsers lay them out at desktop width and scale the result down; none carries an H1 heading; ten carry no meta description; and no page carries a canonical link. Those are properties of the markup, and a rebuild fixes every one of them.
This redesign puts the City’s own pages front-and-center — services, agendas, the municipal code and the FAQ — and gives residents a clear way to reach City Hall, all built mobile-first.
What residents get
- Your full service list — All 6 services with their own description, instead of a menu people have to hunt through.
- Report a Concern form — Name, email, phone and details — for residents who would rather write than call.
- Found on Google — clean SEO structure, and every page set up to be indexed.
- Mobile-first & fast — looks sharp and loads quickly on every phone, built on your own brand colours rather than a stock theme.
- One-tap calling — your number is a call button in the header of every page, at every screen size.
Your own content, put to work
- All 6 services, in your own words — Each one keeps the description you already wrote, rather than a rewrite that puts words in your mouth.
- Your own photograph, used properly — The Main Street view from your history page leads every mockup, at the largest size it will bear. No stock photography has been added, and nothing is presented as the City’s own that is not.
- 6 questions answered up front — The things people ring up to ask, answered on the page using what you already publish — so fewer enquiries start from nothing.
- The facts about Lathrop, up front — Population, the sales tax rate and where the city sits are shown on the page instead of only inside a paragraph on the Community page.
- Your brand colours, taken from what you already use — The accent colour is sampled out of your own logo file rather than picked to taste, so the site matches the branding you already use.
- Agendas and notices, brought forward — Every working document on your What’s New list gets a proper section, each opening the file you already link to.
